Welcome

5000 years ago in India people once knew how to live. So much so, that they knew of the beauty and power of smiles, of words, of music, of good food and of poems. They knew what would elevate their lives until they reached the sublime—and how to keep there. They even invented a language—or was handed down, according to your own beliefs—composed especially according to the sound vibrations that are said to reach the deeper elements of our soul. Imagine that.

In this age when everything seems made for the moment or to please the most basic and superficial aspects of our existence, we sought to recreate a space where we can bring back that which our forefathers thousandths of years ago already knew how to do and we have forgotten: how to live a life in poetry.

The language is called Sanskrit, and hello in Sanskrit is said: Haribol! (with a spiritual smile and a sweet, melodic voice that intends soulful good wishes).

Living a life in poetry is not an illusion. The illusion is that it cannot be done. It can. Because it depends on us. And at Cafe Galerie Poesie, we want to help you get there (and for you to help us get there too—until all the people in the world who want to live in poetry can also participate).

Of course, living in poetry and retaining the highest state of mind requires being conscious. Which means not only not damaging other people, other beings (like animals) and the environment (physically or metaphysically). It involves doing something for it.

This is why at Cafe Galerie Poesie we have taken care to source everything we can from special people in Berlin and around the world (even in places as far back as Kutch, in India, close to the border with Pakistan—a very special place where a very special group of people called the Jains, who have been the original proponents of the maximum non-violence for thousands of years, have been for hundredths if not thousandths of years based —or in Arusha, near Kilimanjaro mountain, in Tanzania, where the still full of character Masai people are still roaming barefoot the wild Savannah) who are making an effort to live a life in poetry and help others do so as well.

We hope that you will enjoy the experience and, above all, that you become a living poet too!

Welcome to Café Galerie Poesie and enjoy! :-)
